A new government insurance plan to provide in-home help for senior citizens and disabled is extremely likely to become a law, despite the large number of senators who are voting against the bill. This so-called “CLASS” plan is going to allow workers to sign up for a payroll deduction program that is similar to Social Security. Participation would be voluntary, inlcuding fees and benefits that will be determined by the age of the person participating. These fees are expected to cover most of the current cost of this program.
In my opinion, I think that this bill should be passed, because there are many elderly and disabled people who have trouble simply walking to the bathroom, or sitting down to watch t.v. I think that it’s a great concept, yet, I don’t know how it’s going to affect our economy.
